The respond to, "how are you?"

 

The sun was low and the moon was trying to take its place, meanwhile someone pinged me, "How are you?".

I was about to come with impulsive reply that we all have

  • I’m good.
  • I'm doing well.
  • I’m absolutely fine, you say.
  • Doing fine, what about you?

Alright..!!

But this time I was not in the mood of procrastinating. I went through the self introspection and self judgment at the same time and I was blank.

An often asked and answered question by acquaintance and mates was putting me in trouble this time. I don’t know whether the condition should be decided from the external factors and circumstances or should come from the inner me that how I’m facing it. Probably that took around 18–20 mins for me to completely digest the words, I was going to put there.

Is this the depth of petty question?

And if we notice, most of the time we really don’t mean it and answer inattentively.

This scenario made me to think that things need to be changed. We should not skip this warm and pivotal part of the conversation. The complete analysis of mind is required before responding to this question.

Responding succinctly may be the more better way for dealing this question if someone really wants to know, How are you?.
